The Third Conference on Free Software in the province of Jujuy, a speaker spoke about free educational platforms, naming one of them: Moodle. So I am very interested and decided to post the essence of this application.
Moodle is a course management system of free distribution to help educators create online learning communities. This type of technology platforms also known as LMS (Learning Management System) .
Moodle was created by Martin Dougiamas, who was manager at WebCT Curtin University of Technology. He based his design on the ideas of constructivism in pedagogy who claim that knowledge is built in the student's mind rather than being transmitted unchanged from books or teaching and collaborative learning . A teacher operating from this point of view creates a student-centered environment that helps to build that knowledge based on their own knowledge and skills rather than simply publish and transmit the information to be considered students must know .
